All of our special events open to teachers are listed below.
Our Festival offers master classes from our wonderful Artist Faculty as well as our very exciting guests this year, Sean Chen, Ann Schein, and Alexander Braginsky from the University of Minnesota. Master classes are free of charge.
Our Musicianship Classes are given by Prof. Nancy Bachus and will cover Robert and Clara Schumann. Musicianship classes require an admission fee of $5/class or $25 for all six classes. This amount will be collected at the entry.
Musicianship Class Schedule: Two sections each day, same material covered.
Our composition classes are an opportunity for students to begin thinking of the exciting world of creating and writing down their own musical thoughts and expressions. Dr. Sarah Miller will meet twice with our students separated by age. Composition classes are free of charge.
Preliminaries and Finals:
Our Concerto Competition is one of the most exciting events at the festival. The preliminaries and the finals are open to the public.
Preliminaries: Friday, July 14: 9:00-12:00pm
Finals: Friday, July 14: 4:00-6:00pm
Our Honors Concerts feature students that have successfully auditioned for the Solo Performance Competitions. They will be split between two evenings:
Tuesday, July 18, Junior Division: Ages 12 & Under Honors Recital, 7:30pm, Benson Great Hall
Thursday, July 20, Senior Division: Ages 12 & Over Honors Recital, 7:30pm, Benson Great Hall.
